Your Wedding Gown

Let's just lay it on the table. Wedding gowns aren't inexpensive. Finding the right one may take time, but be patient because you want the one that perfectly suits you.

Many brides are going for dresses with décolletage or halter-type necklines, but know your body. If your neck and shoulders aren't your best features, why draw attention to them? A dramatic look can also be achieved with an asymmetrical or off-shoulder neckline. Wearing a minimal amount of jewelry with this look keeps the attention on you.

A fashion-forward trend for wedding gowns is pleating at the bust line and at the bottom of the dress, according to Jackie Young of Jacqueline's Bridal in Nashville. "As the year ends, and also as we go into '08, we will see more of the pleating," Young says. Knee-length dresses in silk and satin are also a huge trend. If you're planning an outdoor wedding, these are especially tempting.
